The Russians armed ground drones with dozens of Bumblebee flamethrowers: an expert revealed the threat

Share: The Russian army has significantly improved its ground-based Courier drones, arming them with the Bumblebee anti-personnel jet flamethrower. Since the first prototype, the "Courier" has become more balanced in terms of mass distribution, received fiber optic communication and learned to fire the PKT machine gun quite accurately, and now a new weapon has appeared. Ukrainian military commentator Oleksandr Kovalenko drew attention to this on his Telegram channel.

On one "Courier" the Russians install from 8 to 10 disposable "Bumblebee" flamethrowers. This weapon is designed to hit fire points, vehicles and light armored vehicles, as well as manpower in open space. The maximum flight range of a capsule with an incendiary substance is 1000 meters, in an open area it affects an area of 50 square meters. The "Courier" robotic complex was developed by the Russian design bureau "Kulibin-club" in 2024.

The developers say that it is capable of developing speeds of up to 35 km/h. Battery life is up to 72 hours, depending on load and operating conditions. The complex is managed remotely at a distance of up to 10 km. The modular design of the "Courier" NRTK can be equipped with automatic grenade launchers AGS-17 and AGS-30, reactive anti-tank grenade launchers, anti-tank missile systems, large-caliber NSVT or Kord machine guns.

The installation of a reset system for a mine barrier, a laser demining installation, a manipulator for evacuating the wounded from the battlefield, radio-electronic warfare complexes and communication repeaters is also provided for. As Kovalenko noted, the "Courier" complexes in March 2024 in the Avdiiv region are armed with AGS-17 grenade launchers. Already in April, designers demonstrated new versions for demining and evacuating the wounded.
