According to the Russian Criminal Code, a volunteer can threaten up to 18 years of age if it falls to the occupiers. He was arrested in absentia. Russian investigators issued a resolution on the federal and international search of 22-year-old Georgy Bezikovich Gelashvili, who "hides from the bodies of pre-trial investigation" in the framework of a criminal case of "arousal of hatred" and "mercenary". The investigation appealed to Moscow's Basman Court with a request for election of a pre -trial detention in the form of detention in absentia. Russian security forces suspect him in "inciting enmity and hatred with the use of media, threats of violence, as well as in mercenary. " According to Russian propagandists, Georgy Gelashvili is accused of item "A" of part 2 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code-ignition of hatred with the use of violence.

The probable measure of punishment is imprisonment for up to six years. Under Article 359 of the Criminal Code ("mercenary") a volunteer can threaten up to 18 years. The term arrest of the Georgian volunteer will be calculated from the moment of its extradition into the territory of Russia or from the moment of detention in the Russian Federation.
