Hypersonu and border range: what advanced weapons samples were presented by Turkey on IDEF 2025

To spread: The 17th International Defense Industry Exhibition (IDEF 2025), which took place from July 22 to 27, ended in Istanbul. During the event, Turkish defensive companies presented advanced weapons, including Hisar-X, AKATA, IHA-300, TayFun Block-4, 300 ER, as well as şimşIK-2 rocket. The most interesting novelties of the Turkish military-industrial complex, presented on the IDEF 2025 are referred to in the Breaking Defense profile edition.

The bright moment of the opening day of the IDEF 2025 was the official presentation of the ROKETSAN anti-aircraft missile complex of the new generation of Hisar-X with an enlarged radius of lesion designed to intercept high-speed air goals, including winged rockets and swamps of UAPL. This air defense system is positioned as the next step in the evolution of his Hisar family, complementing the Hisar-A/A+ Small Distance Systems and Hisar-O+ average complexes.

Its integration into the system of "multi -level" defense known as Steel Dome makes it a cornerstone of Turkey National VPO. However, the exact technical characteristics of the system are not yet disclosed. Akata is an underwater version of ATMACA, specially adapted to run with 533 mm torpedoes of submarines. Due to this, Turkey has become one of the few countries with the technology of launching controlled cruise missiles from the water.

Weapons were designed as a replacement of Harpoon's American rocket. The new variant in the capsule is intended for start -up starting, while retaining the key characteristics of the basic version. The rocket has a range of more than 250 km and is equipped with a fragmentation-fugitive combat part of 220 kg, designed for damage to both surface and ground purposes. Akata weighs 1200 kg, length is 7 m, the diameter is 533 mm, which provides compatibility with standard submarines.

The guidance system includes inertial navigation, GPS, barometric and radar meter, as well as the active radar head. The rocket is able to receive updates through the data channel, perform repeated attacks or interrupt the mission in flight. The technical characteristics of the IDEF-2025 International Defense Industry Exhibition, Turkish defense company ROKETSAN presented a new supersonic IHA-300, designed to launch both heavy drones and combat aircraft.

The developers emphasize that the versatility of IHA-300 opens up new opportunities for the use of shock drones. Thanks to this weapon, drones will be able to strike high -precision shocks over 500 km, remaining outside the area of enemy air defense. IHA-300 Specifications at the Roketsan exhibition also showed TayFun Block-4-a hypersonic version of the Tayfun Ballistic Rocket. Experts have already called this weapon the most ambitious Roketsan project in recent decades.

The rocket develops a speed of more than 5 Mach, which makes it an extremely difficult goal for existing means about. Start is made from a mobile installation on a Vilat chassis, which provides high maneuverability and secrecy. According to analysts, the appearance of TayFun Block-4 is able to change the regional balance of power.

For Turkey, it is not only a breakthrough in the field of long -range high -precision weapons, but also a powerful political signal to neighbors and strategic competitors. Another example from Roketsan is 300 ER ballistic missile. It is based on the solutions previously used in the UAV-230, but with extended characteristics. When launching from the air of 300 ER is able to affect the targets at a distance of more than 500 km, depending on the height and speed of the starting platform.

This makes it a tool for deep strokes on the enemy's strategic objects, while remaining outside the area of the majority of air defense systems. Turkish weapons position the new system as a more affordable alternative to winged long range rockets. With similar combat capabilities, the ballistic 300 ER requires less logistics and production costs while maintaining a strategic effect.

The characteristics of 300 ER Roketsan also introduced a new project-a launch-carrier şIMşEK-2 capable of entering satellites up to 1. 5 tons. According to Roketsan Murat Ikji CEO, the new carrier has demonstrated the level of engineering potential of Turkey and will allow you to start a useful load on sunny synchronous orbit more than 700 km high.

The system is built on the basis of a two-stage rocket with liquid engines and is the development of the previous version of şIMşEK-1, whose capacity was 400 kg. The project şIMşEK-2 is aimed not only at strengthening the defense opportunities, but also for the entry of Turkey into the market of civilian and commercial space launches.
