"Forced to go back to the Russian Federation": Turkey is massively refused to Russians at the residence permit - the media

According to the publication, many Russians try to bypass the ban and in all ways to stay in Turkey, but many have to return home. Russian citizens face difficulties in the design or continuation of a tourist visa in Turkey. In some cases, refusals receive up to 90% of applicants. About it reports the edition of The Moscow Times.

"In almost all regions, the percentage of refusals to the residence permit began to increase dramatically, and the continuation of residence has become the most painful issue for most Russians who moved to Turkey," the newspaper said. Local authorities now demand from the applicants to continue their residence permit, including extracts from Turkish banks with monthly receipts. In addition, a family of three people should be at least $ 2,000 monthly.

Earlier, it was sufficient to present a housing lease and local insurance to obtain a tourist residence permit. According to Turkish visa consultant to journalists, this problem has become widespread and extends to all major cities of Turkey, although the requirements for documents for residence permit may vary depending on the city.

Now many Russians are trying to get around the problem, forming a different type of residence permit instead of tourist, for example, through the purchase of real estate. However, not all Russians can use these options. Many of those who reside in Turkey are forced to return to Russia or move to other countries because of difficulties with the continuation of the tourist residence permit.

"Last year, the Russians became the largest buyers of real estate in Turkey among foreigners, occupying a quarter of this market. They purchased more than 16,000 objects in Turkey - three times more than a year earlier. The number of residences of the Russians was 153 thousand, and it is also a record among all foreign citizens in Turkey, " - writes the newspaper.
