“Request for a strong hand.” Ukrainians during the war want to see a strong leader, not democracy - a poll

Most Ukrainians prefer the idea of ​​a powerful state than democracy in the country. Against the background of the war, the request for a "strong hand" is growing. This is stated in the results of a survey of the Kiev International Institute of Sociology, conducted in July at the request of the OPORA Civic Network. 58% of Ukrainians believe that a strong leader is now more important for Ukraine, while 14% of those polled have been called a democratic system.

Video of the day is even greater in views in views of presidential interference in parliament and government. 79% call it justified to strengthen defense. But 16% believe that it is important to keep the distribution of powers even during the war. Also, 57% of respondents are convinced that during the war the authorities should be held accountable for citizens for spreading "harmful" views for the state.

Because anyone should be able to publicly express their views without fear of persecution of power publicly, 37% are convinced. 52% are less priority for elections after the end of martial law, while 40% are important to hold free and fair elections in time. The study of public opinion was held in July.
