The person involved collected reconnaissance information about the movement of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which participated in the counter -offensive on the Eastern Front. This was reported by the SBU press service. For the masking of intelligence and subversive activity, the detained before going out of the task was dressed in the military form of Ukrainian defenders.
He paid special attention to the routes of the railway trains that carry modern military equipment, weapons and ammunition for defense forces. He also tried to identify combat positions of the Ukrainian air defense in the regional center. To collect intelligence information, the person involved regularly moved the territory of the city and photographed Ukrainian objects. The detained data transmitted to his "curator" from the FSB through the messenger in the form of text messages and media files.
For each task, the person involved received a monetary reward from Russian special services. To classify the sources of financing, he received funds on his bank card through the use of cryptocurrency transactions. According to the available data, agent intelligence was needed by occupiers to plan combat operations and sabotage aimed at slowing the Ukrainian counter -offensive in the areas of Colord and Greater Novosilka.
SBU staff detained the suspect during espionage near one of the strategic objects in the Dnieper. During the searches, the person found a mobile phone with evidence of correspondence with the curator, as well as cartridges for automatic weapons. Investigators of the Security Service informed the person being suspected under Part 2 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (State betrayal committed in the conditions of martial law).
The issue of additional qualification of his criminal acts under Art. 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal handling of weapons, combat supplies or explosives). So far, he is in custody. An investigation into the establishment of all the circumstances of the crime is ongoing. The attacker is threatened with life imprisonment. The special operation was carried out by SBU staff in Dnipropetrovsk region under the procedural guidance of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor's Office.
