Ukraine has confirmed that its drones struck Tuapse, one of Russia's main Black Sea oil ports, causing a fire and damaging at least one vessel. This is part of Kyiv's efforts to undermine Russia's military economy by striking its energy infrastructure. The administration of the region confirmed that a fire broke out in the port of Tuapse.
Sources said that the Rosneft-controlled refinery, which exports most of its products, stopped processing the very next day due to damage to the port infrastructure. Before the drone attack, the Tuapse refinery was expected to increase oil exports in November. According to LSEG, at the time of the attack, there were three tankers loading oil, diesel and fuel oil in the port. According to data, as of November 5, all vessels were removed from the berths and anchored.
And OSINT researcher Tom Baik discovered new satellite images showing fresh oil spills in the port — meaning the leak is ongoing. It is noteworthy that local residents report a fuel spill, but the head of the Tuapsinsk district, Serhii Boyko, said that "no oil stains were detected" and the data from satellites "were not confirmed. " The export-oriented Tuapsin plant with a processing capacity of 240,000 barrels of oil per day produces various types of fuel.
The refinery, which has also been targeted by drones several times, mainly supplies oil to China, Malaysia, Singapore and Turkey. As a result of the attack, at least four oil tankers and the Transnafta terminal were damaged. Among the damaged ships are POLLUX, SATURN I, CHAI and COAST BUSTER, some of which are part of the "shadow fleet" of Russia. We will remind, Focus wrote in detail about which ships caught fire in the port of Tuapse during the drone attack.
