Military accounting for women will be voluntary: the Defense Ministry is preparing changes

The military command believes that the topic of women's registration was raised. No Ukrainian woman has gone to the front forcibly, Anna Malyar said. Women on military registration will soon be voluntary. The Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Anna Malyar wrote about it on Telegram. The official noted that they would soon officially announce the absence of restrictions for women about crossing the border since October 1.

The command will approve the voluntary procedure for establishing Ukrainian women on military accounting. In a recent interview, Anna Malyar said that there were a lot of excitement around the topic of women on military registration. "Both the Defense Ministry and the General Staff are that it should be voluntary. If this does not happen, the law is delayed by the year. There is no need to increase the number of women who are on military accounting," the Deputy Minister said.

According to her, women with children cannot be forced to keep up with military registration and deprive the opportunity to leave Ukraine. "If the parents in the family are conscripted and have a ban on traveling abroad, or it is a single mom, then no one can take out the child. We encroach on the right of this child to life because no one can protect her,"- She stated. The painter stressed that no woman in Ukraine has gone to the front forcibly.

According to the painter, the specialties for military registration will be much smaller. A lawyer from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Volodymyr Smilko said earlier that conscripted women should be registered since October 1, they will be forbidden to leave Ukraine. Recall that the People's Deputy Maryan Bezugla declared the transfer of military accounting for women from October 1, 2022. The Verkhovna Rada proposed several variants of changes to the legislation.
