Sumy region shelling increases: evacuation has been announced from more than 200 settlements

To spread: in the Sumy region the security situation is deteriorating: by the morning of May 19, the Russians made 135 shelling. More than 60% of the population was exported from 202 settlements. Such data were voiced by the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration (OVA) Oleg Grigorov. It is about villages located near the border with Russia. As of May 19, more than 4 thousand people remain at the most risk communities.

65 people left the Belopil and Vorozhbian communities, where on May 5, 65 people left. There are just more than 3,000 inhabitants in the Belopil community, and 835 in Vorozhbianskaya. There are 274 inhabitants in the village, of whom 24 children. The plans of expansion of evacuation zones in the Sumy region were spoken through the security situation on May 12. In total, 18 territorial communities are subject to evacuation.

In some directions of the front on the border of Sumy region and the Russian Federation are active fighting. According to Grigorov, the forces of Ukraine's defense forces are firmly holding positions. By the morning of May 19, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation carried out 135 shelling on 24 settlements in 14 territorial communities of Sumy region. Ova recorded the most shelling in Sumy, Shostka and Konotop districts.
