Some were carried in their hands: the Armed Forces fighters were evacuated from the basement of Pokrovsk (video)

The locals said that they spent more than two weeks in the basement without food and water without being able to go outside. According to them, one house was destroyed, so they were forced to go to another where they remained until the moment of rescue. People noted that they expected the arrival of the Ukrainian military and they saved them in a critical moment. The rescued thanked the assault for help, emphasizing that they did not leave them a step.

They mentioned that even the wounded fighter supported them, tried to help physically and morally. According to eyewitnesses, the military was covered with cloaks and organized in a "chain" to safely remove them from the danger zone. One of the wounded soldiers reported that during a battle of release of houses he was injured, but despite this, he and his brothers participated in the evacuation of civilians.

The people who were able to withdraw have expressed their sincere gratitude to the soldiers and emphasized that thanks to their efforts they remained alive. "I know God is, and thank the guys. I will never forget them," one of the rescued men said. The regiment emphasized that the evacuation of civilians is one of the main tasks of the unit. "Our fighters, risking their lives, took six civilians from Pokrovsk.

We will then transport them to a safer place, give employees who will provide medical care and help with further evacuation to relatives in the west of Ukraine," the military said. It should be reminded that, according to the Institute of War Study, the main battles in Donetsk region continue near Siversk, Temporal, Toretsk and Pokrovsk. Moreover, as of August 24, Colonel-General Alexander Sirsky confirmed that Mikhailivka was released east of Pokrovsk.
