The DPRK's state news agency reports that during the meeting, Kim Jong and Sergei Shoigu discussed "Important Issues for Protecting Common Key Interests" and cooperation between the two countries in various fields, including "developing the situation around Ukraine", and confirmed a complete coincidence of positions. Shoigu also gave Kima thanks to the Russian leadership for the participation of the DPRK soldiers in the war against Ukraine in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation.

"Comrade Kim Jong-in assured that the DPRK government will continue to support Russia's position and foreign policy in all acute international political issues, in particular, in the Ukrainian issue, and with responsibility will adhere to articles of the Korean-Russian interstate agreement," the North Korean. The mentioned agreement provides for mutual military support and other assistance in the event of an armed attack on one of the parties.

Kim Jong -in expressed confidence that Russia "will always achieve victory in the fair sacred cause of protecting the sovereignty of the state, territorial integrity and interests of security" and wished the Russian people "victory, prosperity and happiness.

" On the website of the Russian Federation, they also report that during the meeting Kim and Shoigu discussed the "situation around Ukraine" and the prospects for the development of relations between countries in the spirit of the signed "Treaty on a comprehensive strategic partnership". In May 29, the International Sanction Monitoring Group (MSMT) said that Russian President Vladimir Putin thanked Kim Jong -in for help in the war against Ukraine with modern air defense systems.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Korea stated that the DPRK was arming the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation with rockets and ammunition and handed over to the Russians at least 20,000 freight containers since September 2023.
