"Daughter teaches poems in Ukrainian": Svetlana Loboda about language, Kozlovsky hits and karma for Russians

On the eve of the official release, focus talked with the artist about the path to Ukrainian sound, the meaning of language, as well as the possibility of translating old hits. How important is it for you (and is it important) to create music in Ukrainian? - I never stopped creating music in Ukrainian, from the first steps on stage.

This is my country's language, its sound will always be special for me. Ukrainian adds depths and melody, and thanks to the wealth of vocabulary - halftones, new meanings that I always live in a song. ⁠What your own songs do you like the most: in Ukrainian or Russian? Why? - I love every song at the time of her release, otherwise none of them would see the world. It is better to ask the supporters about your preferences.

In addition to feeling myself, it is important for me to resolve it with people who put millions of stories in these tracks in all corners of the planet. I am in almost a constant world round and I am very happy when people from the Baltic, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Georgia and other countries where they do not know our language sing Ukrainian songs in the whole voice. This once again proves the power of music. Many performers now translate their old hits.

In particular, Vitaliy Kozlovsky's song "Pinacocora" became very popular again. How do you evaluate this trend? - I am glad that it works for someone. I voiced my position for a long time - I will not translate tracks. Each of them has its own history and its time, their memories from the life of the generation. I think it is honest with both myself and people. In general, in life I do not like to return to the past, on the contrary - to go forward and to create the future.

That is why the Album 18 appeared. Are you free to communicate in Ukrainian, but have you sought for help from tutors to improve your level, pronunciation? - I never had problems with the language, I grew up in Irpen, graduated from Ukrainian school. To enrich the vocabulary, I sometimes read Ukrainian, listen to an interview. My younger daughter Tilda teaches poems in Ukrainian and deals with the teacher.

Which of the representatives of the Russian showbusiness became disappointed for you? - I have been on stage for more than 20 years and I know well what a showbusiness is. Therefore, she used the well -known rule and did not fascinate it first (laughs). Of course, there are a number of people who I was much higher, but it's purely their business. Honor, however, and good, unfortunately, the obvious choice is not for everyone. I believe in justice and know that Karma works like a clock.
