"We've been trying for 10 years": Putin asked Trump over the phone to settle the war in Ukraine

Share: Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump on October 16, allegedly asked the American leader to help him settle the Russian-Ukrainian war. Donald Trump said about it during the American business forum in Miami "I spoke with Putin two weeks ago, and he said - I quote: "We have been trying to end that war for ten years, but we have not succeeded. Now you have to fix it," said Trump.

He also emphasized that he had already "resolved some of these issues in an hour", but did not specify what exactly he meant. Then the American president abruptly changed the topic and complained about the problems with the teleprompter that arose during his speech at the UN. "I look at the teleprompters - and there after these words . . . nothing," Trump explained. Recall that on November 5, Putin said that Russia is ready to take "appropriate measures measures" if the US conducts nuclear tests.
