Washington Prayer Breakfast: Ukraine told about Russian crimes against Christians, details

A delegation out of 100 Ukrainians - representatives of Christian organizations, politicians and chaplains - NYT wrote to Washington. The delegation should show the US crimes of the Russian Federation against Christianity. On February 6, 2024, a prayer breakfast took place in Washington, with politicians and representatives of different Christian currents. The largest delegation came from Ukraine this year.

Ukrainians planned to show the US authorities the crimes of the Russian Federation against Christians and the persecution of anyone who does not belong to the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC). The peculiarities of this year's trip to the Ukrainian delegation to the United States (USA) was written by The New York Times.

The publication wrote that the purpose of the delegation is to persuade US President Donald Trump's administration that there is another reason to continue providing military support to Ukraine. The reason is the threat of Russian relay freedom and the life of Christians. The delegation includes priests of different religious denominations, deputies of the Verkhovna Rada, military chaplains. The estimated number of participants is about 100 people.

Among them is the head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP) of Epipianius and the People's Deputy of Voice Roman Lozynsky (from the Greek Catholic Church). High -ranking officials come to the US National Prayer Breakfast: Ukrainians hoped that they could talk to them and provide evidence of Russian crimes.

Among the crimes of the Russian Federation, the policies of the United States are the persecution of priests of Roman Catholic and Greek Catholic churches, the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (PCU) and even from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP). For example, there were cases of deportations, arrests, convictions, murder (about 50 people). In addition, the Russian Federation is persecuted by Baptists, evangelists, is said in NYT.

The publication reminded that Ukraine had already turned to the United States through religion. For example, the Speaker of the House of Representatives Mike Johnson communicated with Ukrainian Christians and probably unlocked the adoption of a military assistance package in the spring of 2024. "These efforts are aimed at persuading Mr. Trump's supporters who expressed skepticism about great military and financial assistance to Ukraine from Biden's administration," NYT wrote.

Donald Trump and Mike Johnson's pages have publications about a prayer breakfast. Both politicians participated in the celebrations on February 6 and told about it in X. For example, Johnson published a series of photos and quoted the Bible. "It is great to return to a prayer breakfast. Let's trust God," Trump wrote in honor of an event in Washington. National Prayer Breakfast is an event that has been held in Washington since 1953.

The event is involved in political establishment, US Christian representatives and delegations from other countries. It should be noted that in the fall of 2024 Mike Johnson refused to meet with President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky. The reason for such a demarchea is dissatisfaction because Zelensky visited the factory in Pennsylvania, which was considered the influence on the polls.
