"8 km from Surovykin's line": The Armed Forces can go to the Azov Sea - the media (map)

The liberated harvest is located a few kilometers north of the main defensive boundaries of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, a network of fortifications, which has been built from the end of 2022. Harvest is one of several settlements that have been released during the counter -offensive. At the same time, the Ukrainian command has repeatedly stated that territorial progress is only part of the efforts aimed at undermining Russian military potential.

About it reports Newsweek with reference to ISW data for August 15. The crop is located about 8 km north of the main defensive boundaries of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the so -called "Surovikin line". It is a network of fortifications that has been built from the end of 2022. Although there are probably a lot of battles ahead before the Armed Forces can reach and break through the Defense Line, Ukrainian and Russian observers and troops note the local logistical value of the crop.

At the American Analytical Center, the Institute for Studying War considers such success "tactically significant". The commander of one of the Russian battalions this week was in a hurry due to the loss of the harvest and complained that the promised reinforcement had not arrived to help his fighters protect the village. The crop is located on the road leading from the Great Novosilka south to the outskirts of the occupied Mariupol, on the coast of the Azov Sea.

Surovykin Line goes across the road, but if Ukrainian troops can break through the fortifications, it will be possible to move south, towards the sea. Whenever it is possible to get to the coast, it will create new problems for Russian troops on the "land corridor" from the western border of the Russian Federation to the occupied Crimea. A deeper offensive of the Armed Forces could cut in two Russian army in the south.
