The Russians attacked a five -storey building of a geriatric boarding house. 147 people were evacuated from the building. One person was killed, 12 more were injured. On Thursday, September 19, Russian troops fired at Sumy. The city has dropped managed airbags. One of the goals was the Sumy geriatric boarding house. This was reported by the head of the regional military administration Vladimir Artyukh on the air of the telecommunication.

211 elderly lived in the boarding house, 87 of them needed assistance. Evacuation continues. Residents of the institution need both psychological and medical care. "One person was killed, 9 more were injured. All services work: SES, police, fast. Full help is provided," Artyukh said. At 18:05 the State Emergency Service specified that the number of victims increased to 12. Partially destroyed technical and 5th floors. 147 people were evacuated from the building.

Rescuers assured that there were no people under the rubble. 5 buses are involved in the works, 2 of them from the SES, as well as 2 medical calculations of the SES for transportation of patients to hospital and other boarding houses.
