"No one showed materials": Zelensky denies US warnings about war with the Russian Federation

In an interview with foreign journalists, the Ukrainian president said that he received a warning only in words but did not see documentary materials that would confirm the threat. The United States has never officially informed Ukraine about the details of a full -scale invasion of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in Ukraine. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky told this in an interview with Financial Times.

According to him, Western officials only publicly warned Kyiv about the attack of the Russian Federation. "No one showed us specific materials that would say that they (Russian troops - ed. ) Will (advance - ed. ) In one direction or another," Zelensky said. The leader of Ukraine also stressed that personally will not receive materials from the intelligence of the Union countries on the intentions of Russia to fully invade our country and capture Kyiv.

The event was regularly warned by Ukraine and its other partners on the possible full -scale invasion of the Russian army, starting in the fall of 2021. On February 17, the United States Ambassador to the UN Linda Thomas Grinfield directly said that Russia was "heading to the inevitable invasion. " And on June 11, US President Joe Biden said Zelensky ignored the warning that Russia would start a full -scale invasion of Ukraine.

Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky explained why he did not warn the country about the attack of Russia. In his opinion, the announcement of the plans of the Russian invasion would cause panic and economic catastrophe, which would allow the country to plunge into chaos and become a easy prey for the occupiers. Focus also wrote that in January 2022 he secretly visited Ukraine and met with the President of Ukraine.
