In Russia there was an accident with an oil tanker: his crew learned to prevent such situations

To spread: on Sunday, April 20, in the port of the Russian island of Sakhalin in the Tatar Strait during the pumping of fuel in the coastal tank from the tanker "Alexander Kashchuk", there was a spill of petroleum products. This was reported by the Far Eastern Transport Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation. During the event, the tanker was on the pier # 6 of the Maritime Trade Port in Kholm.

It is noted that in order to avoid the spread of petroleum products into the environment, the vessel was enclosed by bons. Currently, the scale of the spill and its causes is unknown. The Center for Combating Misinformation at the NSDC noted that due to the inability of the Russian state to provide proper maintenance of ships in the face of huge expenditures for war against Ukraine and sanctions, incidents with oil tankers have become systemic.

And this creates serious risks to ecology around the world. It should be noted that Alexander Kashchuk's ship was 85 long and almost 13 meters wide was built in Istanbul in 2009. In different years, the tanker went under the flags of Turkey, Italy and Belize. The ship is currently operated by the Russian "Habar fuel company". Exactly a year ago, the crew of the vessel participated in the exercises to prevent oil spills and to eliminate them during the loading and unloading activities.
