Bilateral cooperation, strengthening sanctions against Russia and partnership within the coalition of those who want: President of Ukraine has a conversation with Canada Prime Minister

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has a telephone conversation with Canada Prime Minister Mark Karney. The Head of State congratulated Mark Karney and the Liberal Party on the Victory in the Federal Elections in Canada. Volodymyr Zelensky thanked Canada for the whole Canadian people for his support and added that Ukraine is counting on effective cooperation.

  The President informed about the consequences of Russian shelling of Ukrainian cities and villages and noted that the strengthening of air defense remains the priority priority of the state. Volodymyr Zelensky stressed that Russia increases the production of ballistic missiles, so Ukraine needs additional air defense systems to protect people from them. Particular attention during the conversation is the prospects of the Canadian presidency in G7 this year.

Mark Karney assured his readiness to cooperate with Ukraine at the Seven Group level. The President and the Prime Minister discussed in detail the steps that can bring to a full, unconditional ceasefire and a worthy peace. It was about pressure on Russia, including sanctions against banking and energy sectors. Leaders have agreed that it is important to maintain sanction pressure on the Russian Federation for its aggression.
