Russian officials continue to compete with each other to be able to

On atomic submarines: Putin's friend offers a "advanced" way of gas removal from the Russian Federation (video)

Russian officials continue to compete with each other to be able to "master" budget funds for modern development. This time, Putin's close friend Mikhail Kovalchuk was distinguished. The director of the Kurchatov Russian Institute Mikhail Kovalchuk, who is a close friend to Russian President Vladimir Putin, decided to speak with a new idea.

This time, he suggested to create a nuclear submarine, which will be engaged in the transportation of natural gas from the Russian Federation, as evidenced by the video of the presentation of the project. According to the design of engineers from the Kurchatov Institute, Russia should create a nuclear submarine 360 meters long, and its tonnage should be about 180 thousand tons.

The presentation also said that in order to ensure the operation of this submarine, three nuclear reactors "Rhythm - 200" will need to be installed. The Moscow Times reports that the "atomic gas-gas" project appeared on the background of a sharp shortage of traditional LNG-tankers, which Novatek-the largest manufacturer of LNG, which was under Western sanctions-planned to buy 16 such vessels in 2024.

However, the Korean Novatek partners terminated all contracts because of the aforementioned sanctions, and the Star Ship, which was to put five vessels, struck "in technological problems" and was expected to transfer any tanker. We will remind, in February Russia will not receive icebreakers for the "superfluous" of liquefied gas through sanctions of the United States.
