Turkish Baracar completed the first tests of a supersonic rocket IHA-230 (video)

According to the test results, the rocket can affect the ground and maritime facilities at a distance of more than 150 km depending on the height and speed of start. On November 13, 2024, the Turkish company Baykar announced the successful tests of its new supersonic missile IHA-230, launched from Bayraktar Akinci unmanned battle aircraft. During the UAV test, two IHA-230 missiles launched, which struck the targets at a distance of 155 kilometers.

The test review of the tests was posted on the Company's X press service. The trials have confirmed the capabilities of Bayraktar Akinci to hold high accuracy attacks, strengthening its role in complex military operations. IHA-230, developed by Roketsan, is a ballistic missile of the Air-Earth class capable of striking ground and maritime facilities at a distance of more than 150 kilometers depending on the height and speed of start.

It is equipped with inertial guidance with the support of GNSS satellite technology and "shot and forgot" function, which enables it to act autonomously after release. Its combat radius of action, which depends on the height and speed at the point of release, allows to affect different types of targets at a distance, minimizing the impact of enemy air defense systems. A 42-kilogram rocket can be equipped with a shrapnel warhead, as well as an armor-piercing and thermobaric combat part.

This allows the rocket to effectively impress a wide range of targets - from radars and air defense systems to command points, light armored vehicles and marine facilities. In flight, the rocket maintains stability thanks to the controlled rear fins that stabilize its trajectory and make it possible to bypass air defense systems. IHA-230 uses a solid fuel engine that accelerates it to supersonic speed.

Such a system allows the rocket to reach the goal quickly, which is critical of strokes on strategically important objects. According to Army Recognition, Baykar previously tested other Akinci ammunition, including Tolun Iir -controlled missile. Developed by Aselsan, Tolun Iir is designed for medium range and equipped with an infrared guidance system with the possibility of transmitting data in real time, which allows operators to monitor the defeat of the target in dynamic conditions.

During recent tests at an altitude of 6. 7 km Tolun Iir, he struck the armored personnel carrier on a landfill in a horse, which confirmed his accuracy and efficiency for medium -range tasks. Bayraktar Akinci was also integrated with IHA-122 missile-another ROKETSAN supersonic ammunition. IHA-122 is equipped with laser and television guidance systems and is designed to defeat high-protected goals, such as command centers and air defense centers.
