Lithuania President Gitanas Nauseda is convinced that Russia should be defeated on the battlefield, and negotiations - does not make sense. In an interview with America's voice, he stressed that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin expected to seize Kyiv in a few days, but his plans were destroyed. “Putin expected them to take Kyiv in a few days and that this war would not have major political and economic consequences for Russia. But we see that this is not true.

The conflict should not be resolved by sitting at the negotiating table. The conflict will be resolved on the battlefield . . . I do not see other alternatives and we have to direct every effort to achieve Ukraine's victory in this war. All other scenarios can be very dark for Ukraine, Lithuania and the entire democratic world, ”Nauseda said. Nauseda also added that if Putin wins in Ukraine, his army will move further to Europe.
