Ukrainian border guards knocked down the dangerous drone "Lancet" of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation: what left it (photo)

Russian lancet ammunition has machine vision and can destroy almost any military equipment with an accurate blow. The border guards of the Zaysta brigade destroyed the unmanned bargaining ammunition "Lancet" of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in Donetsk region. This was reported on Facebook by the press service of the 3rd border detachment named after Hero of Ukraine Colonel Yevgen Pikus. It is reported that Lancet was neutralized by the Phoenix servicemen with the help of small arms.

Ukrainian defenders also showed a photo of the wreckage of Russian drone. "Lancet" is a meadling ammunition with two x-shaped wings, with a built-in guidance system and explosives. Initially, the developers presented two versions: "Lancet-1" with a combat part weighing 1 kg and "Lancet-3" with a warhead weighing 3 kilograms. In the case of accurate hit, so many explosives are enough to fail almost any military equipment.

The invaders began to use "lancets" massively at the end of 2022, attacking, in particular, targets tens of kilometers from the front line.

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation use "lancets" on the following principle: first reconnaissance UAVs of the type "Orlan-10", Zala and Suparcam find goals from high height and transmit their coordinates to the shock units, then the Russian military launches on them "lancet", which looks like ECT is with a camera, and then squeezed and dives down at a speed of up to 300 kilometers per hour.

"The Russians have a specific model that meets many requirements in battle, and it is a relatively capable system that is constantly being improved. That is why Ukrainians publicly declare its danger," the American expert on robotics and UAK Semeel Bendette said in a conversation with Kyiv Independent.

At the Center for Trophy and Prospective Weapons of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted that Lancet has exactly machine vision, but with algorithms of artificial intelligence "not all so clearly". The representative of the department Andriy Rudyk noted that Lancet is not autonomous and cannot monitor the goals and make the decision to attack them.
