The Russian Federation is preparing for a future conflict with NATO: it can happen in the next 5 years - isw

Analysts have suggested that for the next five years Russia can restructure and prepare its army and society for contact with NATO. Suspension or freezing of war in Ukraine can contribute to this, as the Russian Federation will be able to "release resources". Russia has been preparing for a future conflict with the North Atlantic Alliance: this can happen in the middle and long-term perspective for the next five years.

Any variant of freezing Russia against Ukraine can give it opportunities and additional resources to participate in the Russian Army in a probable future collision with NATO. This conclusion was reached by analysts of the American Institute for the Study of War in its analysis of the situation for February 12.

The basis for such analysts' judgments was the summary of Denmark's defense intelligence service, which on February 11 published declassified intelligence data on how the threat from Russia to Denmark and other states belonging to the North Atlantic Alliance increases. "Russia is renewing its army to combat NATO on equal footing through financial and material support for the People's Republic of China, North Korea and Iran," the statement said.

At the same time, according to analysts, the report from the Denmark Defense Intelligence Service states that Russia has not yet decided that it would fight NATO. However, it "expands its military capabilities to preserve this option for developments.

" "The termination or freezing of war in Ukraine on favorable conditions will release significant Russian military resources for their participation in another future conflict," - said the analysts of the Institute, adding that such a statement of Danish intelligence corresponds to their previous analysis.

Now, according to analysts, Russia "can wage a local war", except for Ukraine, with another state, for six months, and in two years it can be a real threat to NATO countries located on the Baltic Sea coasts. "Russia can be ready for a large -scale war in Europe, if NATO does not re -arry the same rate as Russia, in five years," - said analysts according to Danish intelligence.
