The 40-year-old German was detained and suspected of killing their own mother the day before. On December 10, a man was detained in the German city of Dresden, who committed an armed attack on a local radio station Radio Dresden and seized hostages at the shopping center. The details of the event transfers the DW edition, referring to the police.

The man with a gun tried to penetrate the Radio Dresden building and shot the front door, but could not get inside, and the radio station staff hid in a safe place. After failure, the offender sat in the car and went to another Dresden area, entered the Altmarktgalerie shopping center and broke into one of the premises of the DM cosmetic and economic store, where he kept people in hostages, threatening weapons.

People were evacuated from the shopping center and the surrounding areas, closed the Christmas market, and police urged the population and tourists to leave the area. Soon law enforcement officers detained the man, injuring him in the process, but none of the hostages were injured. In October, it became known about the arson of the Center for Ukrainian Refugees in Germany. The building is located in the Gross-Stremkendorf village on the Baltic Sea.
