Israeli Rocket "Zeev" or what is asymmetry in action

The Zeev Israeli rocket is another example of asymmetric, massive and inexpensive but effective approach in the war against more and more and often better equipped enemies. What to do when there is a critically lacking shock front aircraft? As in all such cases, look for asymmetrical solutions. This trail was followed by Israeli engineers from the IFTA army unit. This unit, as part of the Israeli Defense Army, is engaged in the development of new weapons for the army itself.

The engineers, thinking, came to a simple conclusion: if we do not have enough shock aircraft to throw the enemy with coague bombs, let's throw the bomb itself, but not using the aircraft. The result of such reflections was the creation of the Zeev rocket (wolf) in two versions: 250 and 500. "Zeev 500" was the simplest rocket with a distance of flight only 1 kilometer, but the impact from its lesion was about the same as 500.

Zeev 250 was exactly the same rocket, but with Fab-250 effect and 4,5 kilometers. The Zeev 500 rocket was actively used during the exhaustion war (1967–1970) against the Egyptian army. Usually there were several such missiles in Egyptian positions to stop shelling on their part for several days. The accuracy of the rocket was low, but there remained 12 meters in diameter, and the fugas influence made it possible to use "Zeev" in 200x200 meters.

The combat use of these missiles has shown their high efficiency. Yes, infantry without risks for aircraft could call the front -line front without waiting for Israeli aviation. For example, on March 9, 1969, Zeev struck the headquarters of the Egyptian army in Ismaly, destroying the Chief of Staff of Egypt Abd Al-Munima Er-Riyadh and several other senior officers. In the photo you can see the moments "before" and "after" the defeat of the headquarters.

The photos show thanks to the engineers and the call: "Let the wolves be fruitful and multiplied. " The rocket was extremely cheap and simple, which made it possible to produce it in large quantities, and its effectiveness is evidenced by the fact that its latest use was recorded in the 1990s against the positions of Hezbolla in Lebanon.

And this is a time, for a minute, when the F-15, F-16 planes were already in Israel, when it was developed and stood in armed PTRK "Spike" and another hi-tech weapon. But it was difficult to squeeze flocks of "wolves", and only at the beginning of our century "Zeev" finally left the army of the Jews and took its honorable place in museums of weapons, being another example of asymmetric, mass and inexpensive but effective approach in the war against more And often better enemies are better.
