The house, originally built as the composition of the Second World War, was converted to housing. Such buildings, known as Quonset huts, have become a rarity: only some of them have been preserved and have been adapted for life. When a bunny saw a two -room housing with one bathroom, his condition left much to be desired. The house stood on the market for a long time, was neglected and needed overhaul. But the price of $ 35,000 made her think. "My father was strongly opposed to buy it.
But I still came back to this house. For me, a person who is often traveling, a small house seemed logical choice. I don't need a lot of space," Urik admits. In March 2023, Jacqueline decided to buy and moved to the house. The advantages of life in compact home, according to her, are obvious: minimal cost of cleaning, service and utilities. However, there were difficulties. Through the curved walls, it was not possible to place all the property, and it became almost impossible to entertain guests.
The initial purchase cost a rail of only $ 35,000, but the repair of the house exceeded this amount almost three times. It has invested about $ 110,000, including: the full recovery process took a year and a half. The house is now estimated at $ 150,000-180,000, which makes Jacqueline investment justified. "Now I see that it was the right solution. The house has become my cozy shelter, and a small size teaches to live more consciously," Jacqueline summed up.
Earlier, Focus reported that the couple bought the whole village at the price of one house and was looking for new residents. Maayke Geurts and Tibbor were paid for the abandoned settlement of 350,000 euros and are already working to turn it into an environmentally friendly and flowering community. It also became known that the woman explained why she lives on a remote island that many did not hear.
