On the Day of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulated the defenders on the holiday and celebrated them with state awards. The president urged everyone in Ukraine to remember what heroism means, what a risk and what a courage is. On May 17 this year, when Lieutenant Colonel Denis Vasilyuk attacked the enemy in the Kharkiv direction, an enemy rocket hit the plane. At the cost of his own life, he destroyed all defined goals and saved his brothers at the forefront of defense.

The President also celebrated the Order of the Golden Star with the title of Hero of Ukraine Major Dmitry Samfalov. Since the beginning of a full -scale Russian invasion, it has made 358 combat departments. In particular, he destroyed 245 Russian invaders, 26 tanks, 79 APCs, 134 BMPs and other military equipment, as well as warehouses of ammunition and fuel, OP and PCB, crossing and car bridge.
