7 new thermal power plants are being built in Kyiv: Klitschko's deputy told whether they will withstand UAV attacks (video)

Share: Construction of seven new thermal power plants is underway in Kyiv, which will be immediately designed with enhanced protection of the second level. This is the first time in Ukraine that such standards are applied when installing imported turbines and ventilation systems.

The host of the Espresso channel and blogger Andriy Smoliy published in his Telegram channel a clip from an interview with the first deputy head of the KMDA Petro Panteleev, in which he talked about the features of the construction of new energy facilities in the capital. According to Panteleev, seven thermal power plants of various types are being built in Kyiv, which are being developed immediately with second-level protection.

He explained that such objects are designed taking into account ventilation systems and additional air exchange, which allows placing imported turbines even in limited spaces. According to him, this is unique in world practice. "We are actually building seven new thermal power plants of various types and will immediately design them with second-level protection.

In general, this is the first time in the world, because imported turbines usually do not provide for installation in limited spaces due to the specifics of ventilation and additional air exchange systems. Nevertheless, in Kyiv, such facilities are being erected and are protected accordingly," said Petro Panteleev, First Deputy Chairman of the KMDA.

Regarding the level of protection of energy facilities, Panteleev noted that concrete structures of the second level are designed for one hit by a Shahed-type drone. "If we talk about energy resistance and the protection itself, this concrete structure is designed for one hit by a "Shaheda" drone. It is designed for one hit. How the object will behave after that, I cannot say, and perhaps such details should not be voiced on the air," said Petro Panteleev, First Deputy Chairman of the KMDA.

We will remind you that during the massive attack on Kyiv on the night of October 10, Russian troops disabled two of the capital's CHP plants. According to People's Deputy Oleksiy Kucherenko, this led to the loss of about 1,300 MW of power. Focus also wrote that Russia is intensifying attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure with military and economic goals. According to military expert Ivan Stupak, this may make the coming winter more difficult for Ukrainians than the previous one.
