President and First Lady honored the memory of children killed by Russia

On the International Day of Innocent Children - Victims of Aggression and the Day of Honoring Children who died as a result of the Russian Federation's armed aggression, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the first Lady Elena Zelensk, along with the parents of dead children and ambassadors of foreign countries, honored the memory of young Ukrainians.

The event was attended by Lisa, a four -year -old girl who died as a result of a Russian rocket stroke in the center of Vinnytsia in July 2022, Irina Dmitriev and Maxim Kulik, who lost three children - ten -year -old Cyril, two -year -old Demid and a two -month -old Ulyana. Volodymyr Zelensky noted that for 11 years of the war Russia killed hundreds of children in Ukraine.

“It's not just numbers, it's not just statistics, but it's someone's story, someone's tears, pain, eyes of parents who do not know how to live. These children are in our hearts, but this is not enough. We need justice - we all, but above all parents, loved ones, relatives. Everything must be done to make this evil punished so that the killer of children be punished, so that this war end with a fair peace, ”the President said.

Olena Zelenskaya addressed words of support to parents who lost their children. “We are also someone's parents and someone's children - we want you to find the strength to live on. Your children would like this for you, they would want you not to break, but go forward for the sake of life, ”the first lady said. The president's wife called on the international community to help stop Russia's murders.

From the beginning of a full -scale invasion of Russian shelling and fighting, 631 children have been killed. However, this number is not final, since Ukraine has no access to temporarily occupied territories and information on the number of cities and villages killed in cities and villages.   The attendees honored the memory of children killed by Russia, a moment of silence and put toys on the wall of a children's martyrologist, which displays portraits of young Ukrainians.
