The first supporter of the end of the war with Ukraine appeared in Putin's closest environment - NYT

To spread: one of the closest and most ancient associates of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is currently holding the post of deputy head of his administration - Dmitry Kozak frankly but not publicly opposing the continuation of the war with Ukraine. He allegedly submitted Putin to the termination of battles and peace talks, writes The New York Times.

"It is said that the Cossack was disappointed by Putin, because the Cossack made it clear that he considers an invasion of Ukraine a mistake," the material reads. The sources of the publication reported that on the eve of a full -scale invasion of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the Cossack advised Putin not to do so and warned of the horrific consequences of this idea, predicting the fierce resistance of Ukraine.

It is also argued that in the spring of 2022 Putin rejected the project of a peace agreement with Ukraine, which the Cossack allegedly had previously agreed with Kiev. In addition, the Cossack allegedly urged Putin to carry out internal reforms: journalists emphasized that the insistence of the Cossack would hardly affect Putin, who is mostly surrounded by people who feed his tough demands for Ukraine.

Moreover, the Cossack himself is almost not responsible for nothing, since many of his powers have passed to Sergei Kiriyenko. "But this reflects the disappointment that covers part of the Moscow elite, because of Putin's unwillingness to compromise in the war and the increasingly uncontrolled power of security services," NYT said. Recall that the media learned why Putin actually agreed to meet Trump on Alaska. On August 9, Trump stated that territories in Ukraine will be exchanged soon.
