According to Helsingin Sanomat on Friday, September 23, citing the press conference of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the country, Pekka Haavisto, the decisions will be made in the near future. Visa visas may be terminated or restricted, except for some categories, such as citizens who come to visit relatives or go to work.

Kaavisto also said that Russians' visas can be canceled on the border individually. Video of the day according to the minister, technical and legal training is now underway. Haavisto said that Finland risks turning into a large -scale transit country, which harms the image of the country and its international relations.

The Finland government reported on Friday that they would decide on "significant restrictions" on the entry of Russian citizens and the issuance of visas due to "serious harm to the international position" of the country. According to Yle, the Russians will not be able to enter Finland on a tourist visa issued by Helsinki or other Schengen countries. Earlier, the Finnish Border Service reported that in a week the number of Russians entering Finland has doubled.

From September 19, Poland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania have banned the entry of Russian citizens with tourist Schengen visas issued by EU countries. Now Finland actually remains the only country-neighbor of the Russian Federation, through which Russians can get into Europe on a Schengen visa.
