According to the People's Deputy Galina Tretyakova, the mass departure of citizens from the country has led to the fact that now almost one in three - a pensioner. Over the past 2022, poverty ratio in Ukraine increased from 5. 5% to 20. 2%, ie 3. 7 times. This was reported in the press service of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Social Policy and Protection of Veterans' Rights.

The increase in the poverty coefficient and the fall in the level of income of citizens in parliament called one of the main challenges of the war that Ukraine faced. The Verkhovna Rada also noted that powerful demographic and migration processes have led to the fact that almost every third Ukrainian is a pensioner. In this regard, the issue of financing the solidarity pension system and the need to carry out pension reform in Ukraine.

In addition, military challenges for Ukraine in parliament noted the rapid creation of the concept of post -war adaptation of demobilized servicemen to a peaceful life. Such adaptation should contain an algorithm for employment of persons with disabilities. According to the chairman of the parliamentary committee Halyna Tretyakova, all these challenges in Kiev are hoped to solve through the Council of Europe Program.

“I am grateful to Susana Mnazakanyan [the head of the Council of Europe's project“ Strengthening Social Protection in Ukraine], which has accompanied us for three years in these processes. As a result, in December 2022, the concept of the Social Code of Ukraine was presented, which could restart outdated Soviet legislation and codify more than 120 laws on social care and protection in Ukraine, ”Tretyakov said.
