To help the Armed Forces: Britain can send troops to Ukraine - The Times

It is an intensive basic military training for recruits before sending them to the front. According to sources of the publication, such exercises are planned to be conducted in the territory of the western regions of Ukraine. The British military leadership considers the possibility of sending troops to Ukraine to train soldiers in "separate" places to help Kiev in a set of recruits. About it writes The Times with reference to sources on Thursday, October 10.

According to the plans discussed, small groups of British military instructors will be sent to the west of Ukraine for intensive basic preparation of recruits before sending them to the front in the east. According to two knowledgeable sources, this would solve some of the logistics problems that arise when sending Ukrainian soldiers to study to British bases, as well as to save money.

President Volodymyr Zelensky visited London today, where he met with Labor leader Kiir Startner as part of a European tour aimed at attracting greater military support for Ukraine. The meeting took place at Down Street, where Zelensky and Starmer discussed military assistance together with the new NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.

NATO Secretary General also added that for the United Kingdom and the United States it would be "legally" to use long -range weapons, such as Storm Shadow missiles in Ukraine, but granting permission remains with allies. The Times notes that as part of the Interflex Operation, led by the United Kingdom, tens of thousands of Ukrainian soldiers have been prepared in the United Kingdom since the beginning of the war.

However, British military sources say that Ukrainian soldiers' training in Ukraine can be faster and cheaper. The Ukrainian military also support this initiative, believing that it will become a powerful military-political signal and will create real prerequisites for NATO infrastructure in Ukraine. The source at the Ukrainian Military Department has stated that the transfer of exercises to Ukraine will become a "powerful military-political signal" for other countries and for Russia itself.

The source reported that it would also mean the beginning of the "de facto" deployment of NATO military infrastructure in Ukraine and will be a "powerful means of restraining". British soldiers will also take combat skills in the Ukrainian military and have the opportunity to test the latest weapons developed for war, added a source.

Since the full -scale invasion of Russia in 2022, more than 100,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been trained abroad, mostly in the United Kingdom, Poland, France and Germany. The Ukrainian source has stated that the British leadership would inspire France to follow this example and conduct training in Ukraine after discussions in Paris seemed to have been a dead end for political reasons.
