Italy's Defense Minister was "open to dialogue" with Russia despite the war in Ukraine

Guido Krozetto assured that Kyiv partners in Berlin and Rome are ready to continue Ukraine's support in Russian aggression. It is necessary to leave open channels for dialogue despite the Russian full -scale military invasion of Ukraine. This view was expressed by the Minister of Defense of Italy Guido Krozetto, writes The Guardian.

"Although the Russian Federation invaded the sovereign country, and for this reason, Italy and France have always supported and support Ukraine, it is important that the confrontation and dialogue channels remain open," the minister explained. The publication also reminds that this week, French Minister Sebastian Lecorna was talking in telephone with Russian counterpart Sergei Shoig. The France spokesman condemned the war that Russia was unleashed during the conversation.

Over time, Paris denied Moscow's statements about France's readiness to negotiate Ukraine, as well as discuss the prospect of negotiations during the meeting of the Ministers of Defense of the two countries. In his turn, the Italian Defense Minister, after negotiation with his French colleague, stressed that "rigid and critical" communication is an important tool for the termination of Russian attacks and "creating conditions for a fair peace.

" Last year President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made a decision of the NSDC, which forbids negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The document states that the Russian Federation should withdraw all its troops from Ukraine to restore the negotiation process, provide a change in the political elite, recognize the fact of the presence of military crimes, as well as issue war organizers for the tribunal.
