Is there laser weapons in Ukraine: Defense Express is surprised by Sukharevsky's statement about Trizub

The analyst and director of Defense Express Sergey Zgurets believes that if Ukraine really managed to create such a laser weapon system, then it would be a big breakthrough. In Ukraine, the creation of a trident laser system, capable of striking targets up to two kilometers, was stated. The Commander of the Forces of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces Colonel Vadim Sukharevsky reported that this development is able to destroy even planes.

However, Defense Technology Expert Sergey Zgurets, Director of the Information and Consulting Company, Defense Express, has called for such statements on the air of Espresso. He explained that laser weapons are an extremely difficult and resource -intensive project. "The issue of laser weapons remains open, although there is a statement from the Commander of the Sukharevsky unmanned forces that there is a Trizub system.

It is a laser system that has an effect up to 2 km away and can even destroy planes," he said. The expert expressed surprise that the commander of the forces of unmanned systems, not the president, stated the development. Zgurets believes that if there was such a breakthrough in the creation of laser weapons in Ukraine in such a short time, it would be a significant achievement.

He noted that world leaders, such as the United States, Great Britain and Germany, have been working on such systems for more than a year. For example, an American laser on a warship has a power of 50 kW and can operate up to 1. 6 km away. The British Dragonfire system, which has been developed since 2017, is capable of holding a laser beam up to 2 km with a diameter of only 2 cm, which allows you to effectively destroy air targets.

According to Zgurt, the British even considered the opportunity to transfer this technology to Ukraine for testing. Although Ukraine has the potential for creating such systems, the development in this field has still remained in the stage of research.

He noted that he did not have detailed information, although he was in all arms exhibitions, in contact with American manufacturers and until some time knew about the potential of Ukrainian laser equipment, which is being developed at the Institute of Semiconductors of the Academy of Sciences. The expert believes that if Ukraine really managed to create such a system of weapons in a mysterious format, then it would be a big breakthrough.

Zgurets suggested that if the trident system really exists, its creation could be connected with the Institute of Semiconductors of the Academy of Sciences. However, detailed development information remains classified. "I am still surprised yesterday's statement by Sukharevsky. I hope that this statement has a certain practical basis, and we will see how it will manifest itself on the battlefield," Zgurets added.
