The threats from the Belarusian side were told by the Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces Lieutenant General Sergey Naev in an interview with RBC on August 14. The Ukrainian General noted that the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has never excluded a re -attack on Kiev. And although there is no shock group for such an operation today, it does not mean that this will not happen in the future.
"We understand that hostile intentions depend only on the decisions of the highest political leadership of the Russian Federation. Therefore, in view of the above, such probability exists, but as of this moment it is not supported ", - Naev explained. According to him, the degree of danger of the enemy attack in the Kiev direction will depend on two factors.
The first is to make the relevant decision of the warrior of the Russian Federation, the second is the presence of forces and means necessary for carrying out such operation. "Against this background, we do our best to increase our ability to prevent successful hostile actions in the Kiev direction," Nayev stressed.
As for the activities of the Wagner group fighters, the General noted that they will find poorly controlled areas on the border with Poland and Lithuania with the support of official law enforcement agencies of Belarus. The purpose of such actions is to complicate the supply of weapons and other military assistance to Ukraine by Western Allies.
