There is damage: the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation created a threatening situation for ZPP - "Energoatom"

On September 2, the Russians continued the firing of the Ukrainian territories and as a result it led to dangerous consequences, the representatives of the enterprise said. The line cannot be repaired, as there is a threat of repeated strikes by the enemy. Russian invaders do not stop creating new threats to Ukrainians, including temporarily occupied territories. The Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant, located in Energodar, is again in high risk. Energoatom reported about it.

The fact is that the Zaporizhzhya NPP is now connected with the Ukrainian energy system only with the help of one line of power transmission. On September 2, due to actions from the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the situation aggravated again.

"On September 2, 2024, damage to one of the two external air lines occurred through Russian shelling, through which the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhya NPP receives power from the Ukrainian power system to meet their own needs," the message reads. Energoatom noted that in the event of damage to the second line there may be an emergency.

This is due to the loss of external power supply of pumps that cool the active areas of the reactors and the pools of the fuel of the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant. So far, Ukrainian specialists do not have access to an important object, because shelling by Russian invaders is not stopped. "Ukrainian experts cannot currently inspect the place of damage and start repair of the line, because there is a real threat of re -shelling of the site by Russian troops.
