Chinese carmaker will remotely disconnect his illegal electric cars in the Russian Federation

ZEEKR electric cars, which have been exported from China illegally, are remotely locking. It will only be possible to start a car after returning to the territory of the PRC. Not only has Zekr left the markets of Russia and Belarus, it also plans to fight the "gray" import of its cars into these countries. The Chinese carmaker, which is a member of the Geely concern, plans to block illegal electric cars remotely. About it reports the site Motor. ru.

It is reported that such sanctions will be affected by all ZEEKR electric vehicles that have been illegally exported from China to other countries. The fact is that after the termination of official deliveries of the car to the Russian Federation and Belarus, they began to import the so -called "gray" dealers from the PRC. ZEEKR electric cars that were intended for the domestic Chinese market but will be remotely disconnected in other countries.

This applies to a car released after July 2024 (it was then that the brand stopped sales in Russia and Belarus). If the geolocation shows that the car is outside the PRC, the electronics will block the possibility of their launch. The owner will then see a message on the display with a proposal to return the electric car to the China to unlock. They also block cars that use third-party SIM cards.

Russian dealers point out that until they have found only a temporary solution to this problem-installing a new control unit that will unlock the car from the ZEEKR workshop. It will cost $ 800 and allow you to unlock the car only for a short time, because it will still have to connect to the car's workshop.
