The first public mention of his visits dates from September 2022, when Eric Schmidt had a meeting in Kiev with the head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak and the External Defense Alexei Reznikov. In general, most of Schmidt's visits to Ukraine are non -public. He went to the front to the brigades repeatedly, communicated with the military, watched the work of UAV operators. It is now known that the Schmidt team has developed three types of drones.
Their name is not indicated for safety purposes, but it is about drones-interceptors, which are most commonly used against Russian Drones-Kamikadze "Shahed" Medium-range and Drone-Kamikadze (FPV). They all combine artificial intelligence and modern unmanned technologies. The sources of the publication say that Schmidt interceptors are one of the most effective in the fight against hostile drones. They account for the majority of Shahmed's "drones" - about 90%.
Among them are Kamikadze drones with a built-in AI, their own communication system, which is not a hostile direction. These projects are engaged in several teams. They work in Ukraine, the USA and one of the EU countries. The Ukrainian team was developed by the Ukrainian team. Prior to the signing of the Memorandum from the Ministry of Defense, Schmidt tried to hide his activities in the military sphere. However, some Ukrainian manufacturers do not advise to rely entirely on the American technology.
