The statement of the department states that at about 03:00 in Moscow time over the territory of Kaluga region, air defense knocked down a "UAV of aircraft type". A few minutes later, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on the destruction of another drone. According to the department, UAV was shot over the territory of the Stryn district of the Moscow region. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobiangin said that both drones tried to attack the Russian capital.
The official claims that the "household object" was damaged as a result of the fall of debris in the Strin district. Later, the head of the Russian capital reported that another drone was shot down in the Tver region in the village of Zavydov. According to him, the mentioned UAV, as well as the previous ones, headed towards Moscow. The Defense Ministry confirmed the destruction of the drone.
Telegram-channel Mash reported that a carpet plan was announced due to the attack of drones at Vnukovo Airport. Flights in Domodedovo and Sheremetyevo were also detained. The Telegram-channel "Ostrozhno, Moscow" added that in total, 22 flights were detained at Moscow airports and 2 canceled. The authors of the channel also showed frames from Sheremetyevo, where people gathered through a delay of 4 flights.
