The Russian Federation wants to attach Belarus to possible negotiations with Ukraine - Zakharova

According to the spokeswoman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova, Moscow is very appreciative of Minsk's efforts to allegedly resolve the conflict, and ensuring the security of the neighboring republic is a priority for Russia. Russia is highly appreciated by Minsk's "peaceful initiatives" in the issue of war resolution in Ukraine and considers Belarusian participation in possible negotiations.

This was stated by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova, reports RIA "Novosti", "we highly appreciate and support the peaceful efforts of Minsk and consider it important and necessary to connect our closest ally to possible negotiations around Ukraine, which will take place with the participation of Russia," Zakharova emphasized. She also noted that the safety of Belarus remains one of Russia's priorities.

In addition, Zakharova stated that Russia is ready to protect its citizens and a peacekeeping contingent in Transnistria. According to her, in Chisinau, statements about the possibility of forceful solution of the Transnistrian issue in the conditions of energy crisis are heard. Zakharova called such statements "nonsense" and emphasized that Russia will adequately respond to provocations.

"Russia will protect its citizens, peacekeepers, servicemen of the operational group and facilities in Transnistria, including warehouses in the settlement Kolbasna," Zakharova said. She added that all actions that threaten the safety of Russians and peacekeepers will be regarded as aggression against Russia in accordance with international law.
