The officer of the Main Directorate of Missile Troops and Field Artillery of Ukraine, Lieutenant Colonel Yuri Patskan, told about the details of the counter -battery. According to the officer, the counter -battery fire on the part of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation can be opened within minutes after the shot of the Ukrainian howitzer, although it depends on the front area.
To identify Ukrainian artillery, Russia uses a set of tools, including powerful radars and reconnaissance drones, which, however, do not work too quickly. Patskan noted that Lancet, which costs less than $ 40,000, pose a threat to artillery brigades whose howitzers can cost millions of dollars. But Ukrainian fighters use nets to catch drones before they strike.
"When the Russians use lancet drones, we cannot use our capabilities of maneuver, which negates the main advantage of modern war and makes the artillerymen bury their guns from Russian drones that patrol the sky," the lieutenant colonel explained. He added that sometimes Western manufacturers of protective equipment are poorly imagined the level of danger of Russian UAVs.
