Mykola Pirogov I often asked the brothers and the sisters the same question: what leads you to a volunteer unit, in which neither salaries, statuses, no social guarantees? When, in the event of injury or, God forbid, the death of the authorities and officials will surely say, "We did not send you there" . . . everyone answered in their own words, but in all the answers the red thread passed the same thought: we are being treated here. We are appreciated here. We see a person first.
Often the atmosphere of a large family of PDMS was dominated by salaries, statuses, and social guarantees . . . I am sure that it is a vision of a person first of all, fostering his dignity, the spirit of front brotherhood, when the commander is not the one who has more stars on the shoulder straps and who Work and specific affairs deserved his authority - this is what should be dramatically distinguished from enemies.
And to turn into a David country, which is able to defeat a healthy Russian Goliath, for which people are no more than cannon meat . . . So it was. A year and a half and even a year ago it was. We won, we voluntarily went to the front, we died for Ukraine, for our land, for the right to choose our future, because we believed and felt - the state and its representatives see us first of all. A decent person. Which can be killed but cannot be humiliated.
And we, worthy people, made it seemingly impossible: not just stopped the brutal horde, but also forced her to retreat . . . Fortunately, so it was. Unfortunately, so less and less is now. Sometimes, after stories that tell brothers from the front, the hair becomes stubborn. Are we no different from invaders except language, flag and chevron?! Because the attitude towards humans in some commanders and officials to pain resembles "Ruscomirske".
The outlook of these mental "Rusomyrs" in Ukrainian form has perfectly grabbed in one phrase, Mowgli in her recent interview: "You are mobes, you can, with you as you like. " It is not unfortunate to admit it, mentally, we turned out to be much closer to our enemies, than it seemed a year ago when the local "Rusomyrs" dreamed and lay on the bottom. Their common feature is neglect for the person and his dignity. Their life credo is "I am a boss - you are a fool, you are a boss - I'm a fool.
" They measure their lives not by ministry - only by their own wealth and their own benefits. They are not able to take responsibility, will never protect the subordinates before the bosses, will never refuse to comply with a criminal order. The word "dignity" is alien to them, because they do not know what it really means . . . And it is because of such mental twins of the Russians in power (in or without) that many disappears the motivation to fight. Because ethics is more important than indic.
Faith is more important than language. Freedom - for forced unity. Because for freedom, dignity, humanity, justice, much more people are ready to fight than for "Ukrainians are robbed by Ukraine. " Because the event helps us not because we are Ukrainians, but because we are convinced that we (at least a lot of us) will profess dramatically other values for the Russians. And are ready to pay the highest price for this otherness.
However, it turned out that with the "Empire of Evil" we have a lot more in common than it seemed a year ago. And that on the scales of Libra, our Europeanness, unfortunately, has not yet expelled our Russianness. What is the most laconic characteristic of Russia - "theft" attributed to Karamzin, it is possible - with minimal amendments - to apply to modern Ukraine.
That our system of power in which parliamentarism is actually dead, and all fateful decisions make a nearby circle of the electoral king - much more reminiscent of Russian rather than European. And most importantly - the attitude towards the Ukrainian warrior and the defender in us is increasingly dropping on Moscow. Where a soldier is a serf, not a knight . . . And our mental drift towards Russia, which I have been watching the last year, is frankly scaring me.
Because the key to our victory can only be a cardinal other than the enemy. Our flags should be drawn "freedom. Dignity. Justice. " Respect for the dignity of the Ukrainian warrior should become a cornerstone of relations in the Ukrainian army. Then, probably, the military committee will not need to arrange fishing on potential "mobes" . . . A small horde will never win a big one.
