The President of Ukraine said that during today's meeting, the parties discussed in detail and fruitfully defense cooperation, protection of Ukrainian energy, interaction in European structures, regional security, Ukrainian peace formula and other issues on which the security of Ukraine, Finland and all of Europe depends directly.

"I thank Finland for the unchanged support for our defensive efforts, sanction pressure on Russia, international activity aimed at bringing Russia responsible for its terror," the head of the Ukrainian state said. Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine and Finland have already combined 12 defense assistance packages and interaction in the restoration of Ukrainian energy after Russian blows, and expressed gratitude for it.

In addition, as President of Ukraine noted, he and Sauli Nionye continue to discuss the preparation of the 10th EU sanctions package against the Russian Federation. “It is very important that international efforts are also aimed at preventing any attempts by Russia and related persons to bypass the sanction pressure. We have to work on this together, ”he said. Volodymyr Zelenskyy also informed the Finnish colleague about the current situation at the front, plans of Russia in the near future.

“It is obvious that the Russian leadership is preparing for revenge, accumulates forces. But it is also obvious that the terrorist state has to lose. Today we have discussed what is needed for this on the battlefield for our country. In this context, we also discussed the participation of Finland in a coalition of countries in providing modern Western tanks to Ukraine. We thank you for the support. During the meeting, the leaders paid attention to the possibility of attachment of Finland to the implementation of specific points of the Ukrainian formula of peace. “We are already working together on food security - Finland has joined our initiative Grain from Ukraine, and I am grateful for it. We can also work on the implementation of other points of our formula, ”the head of the Ukrainian state said. The parties touched the issues of European and Euro -Atlantic integration of Ukraine.
