Still "missing": the mother of a prisoner of war from the Russian Federation came to her son in Ukraine (video)

Share: Svitlana Sita, a resident of Russian Anapa, came to Ukraine to see her son Oleksiy, who was captured by the Defense Forces. It turned out that the family comes from occupied Donetsk. Also, in the Russian Federation, the man is officially considered "disappeared" despite the fact that his stay in captivity has been confirmed, according to the video of the "Our Way Out" project on YouTube.

During the conversation, it becomes known that the Sytyh family comes from Donetsk, Ukraine, the woman even bought a children's book in Ukrainian for her granddaughter, but the whole family lived in Anapa. The prisoner of war himself said that he was mobilized in 2022 on the territory of the so-called "DNR", and before that he worked in a mine. Later it became known that Oleksiy was sent to serve in the 5th separate motorized rifle brigade, where he was seriously wounded.

Later, the man returned home to Anapa to undergo treatment. Relatives hoped that after this the war would end for him. But when the man came to the military medical commission to issue a medical discharge, he was detained by the military police of the Russian Armed Forces without explanation. Shortly after that, Syty was again sent to the front. The prisoner of war says that he and several others of the same type—wounded, lame, exhausted men—were sent on a mission in the Donetsk direction.

According to Oleksii, they were given only walkie-talkies and ordered to get to a certain house and stay in touch. Out of the whole group, only he returned alive. Sity spent a week without food or water until he and two other exhausted soldiers were captured by the Ukrainian military. Svitlana Sita said she remembers that after the disappearance of her son, she was informed about his death.

She and her relatives did not believe in this and began to look for a missing relative who was found in Ukrainian captivity. At the same time, the Russian side still officially notes that Oleksiy Sity is "missing" despite the fact that he is in captivity. At the end of the video, the woman says that despite this status, the Russian authorities also consider her son to have gone to the SZH, for which he faces criminal liability.

Earlier Focus reported on how Ukraine and the Russian Federation use a secret channel to exchange prisoners. Behind him, there is a constant exchange of captured military personnel, which is a phenomenon for modern warfare. Later it became known that the Russian Federation was hiding Ukrainian crippled and sick prisoners of war.
