Aliyev reacted to the attack of the Russian Federation on the embassy of Azerbaijan: the ambassador was summoned to the carpet

He was informed about the consequences of the shelling, in particular, that a fragment of the outer wall surrounding the embassy was completely demolished as a result of the explosion. The administrative building, the consular section, and official vehicles on the territory were also damaged.

In addition, the ambassador was reminded that this is not the first attack on the objects of Azerbaijan. Thus, on March 10, 2022, the building of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Kharkiv was seriously damaged. And on January 2, 2024, the Russian Federation carried out an attack with an aeroballistic missile "Kinzhal", which did not explode, but fell near the embassy. Then a three-meter-wide crater was formed, and the rocket itself went 8 meters underground.

On August 28, 2025, a hit occurred 50 meters from the territory of the embassy, ​​its buildings and the ambassador's residence were damaged. Separately, they recalled the Russian strikes on the facilities of the Azerbaijani company SOCAR in Odesa. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan emphasized that as early as April 2022, they transferred all the coordinates of their diplomatic institutions in Ukraine to Russia.

"We emphasized that such attacks on our diplomatic missions are unacceptable and asked the Russian side to conduct a proper investigation on this issue and provide a detailed explanation," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan noted. We will remind that at night the Russian Federation carried out a combined attack on Ukraine, the main target of which was Kyiv. In particular, the building of the Embassy of Azerbaijan was damaged by fragments of the "Iskander" missile.
