Also, talking about how the repatriation of the bodies of fallen Ukrainians, the deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that there were no individual repatriations on people who died in Russian colonies or detention facilities. And by returning the bodies of the military, the Russians do not explain the causes of death of man.

"We can establish that the deceased was prisoners of war or civilian only as a result of investigative actions or if the information was confirmed that the person was held captive or kept in places of freedom when it comes to civilians," said Leonid Timchenko. On March 22, the Russians released Roshchina - but forced her to record a video with a statement that she "had no claim" to the Russian special services. In July 2023, Roshchina went to the occupied territories in eastern Ukraine (through Russia). She was in touch with her relatives on August 3 and reported that she had had several inspections, but did not say where she was. There was no more connection with the journalist, and later the native Victoria Roshchina applied for her disappearance.

The disappearance case was officially registered with the SBU, the Ministry of Reintegration and the Ombudsman's office on September 21, 2023. On October 10, 2024 it became known about the death of Victoria Roshchina in the Russian captivity. GUR Yusov, a representative of GUR Yusov then reported that Roshchyna was on exchange lists and had to return home shortly.

On October 11, the Attorney General's office reported that in connection with the information about the death of Ukrainian journalist Victoria Roshchina in the Russian Federation, criminal proceedings opened after its disappearance were dominated. According to the updated version, the case was qualified as a military crime combined with premeditated murder.
