Wanted to split society: the Russian Federation tried to prevent Finnish and Sweden's accession to NATO - the media

According to Finnish journalists, the Kremlin's plan provided for rapid spread of video recordings on social networks. In particular, the Turkish President's discredit campaigns were planned to discredit Recep Taiip Erdogan. Russian intelligence services planned to conduct operations aimed at obstructing Finland and Sweden's accession to NATO.

According to the Finnish edition of Yle Mot, the Kremlin was preparing a campaign, which includes incitement for demonstrations and other actions in these countries. Finnish journalists have a secret intelligence report. According to the report, Russian intelligence planned to organize blasting campaigns disguised as demonstrations before the entry of these countries to NATO.

The document described the plans of provocative demonstrations aimed at increasing tensions in both countries, as well as the organization of anti -Islamic measures as a reaction to specific events.

Although there were no accurate confirmations on the implementation of these plans in Finland, the report contained possible methods, such as demonstrations against Turkey and Rezhep Taiip Erdogan, the spread of anti-Islamic slogans, graffiti and video recordings about these actions through social networks. In one of the cases, in major European cities it was planned to carry out demonstrations that ridiculed Turkish President Recep Taiip Erdogan.

One of the methods mentioned in the document is to write as many anti -Islamic and "anti -Eridgan" slogans on the walls in prominent places of cities. The plan envisaged as widely as possible video recordings of protests on social networks. The events were also expected to cover the news. Information about Russia's plans was transferred to the Russian Center "Dossier" in parts in 2022 and in the spring of 2023.

The Center, funded by Mikhail Khodorkovsky, specializes in investigations into Russian special services, elite property and cash flows. The Center has its journalists who work in both Europe and Lithuania, including Ilya Rozhdestvensky, who claims that they have sources in Russian intelligence. Christmas stressed that Russia's intelligence services sought to heat conflicts between countries or ethnic groups in Europe, which could be an effective method for weakening democratic states.

He also noted that there are no significant resources to spread misinformation and increased differences and this can create doubts about the reality of events. We will remind, on September 26 it was reported that Turkey called the conditions for Sweden's accession to NATO. In 2021, Turkey asked Washington selling 40 fighter jets and a modernization package of F-16, available in the air forces, but the states did not approve the sale.
