Dron with minigan on board: US Army suggested

The drone was equipped with two Dillon Aero Dap-6 Minigun guns with a 3,000-minute firing. During the tests, such fire power allowed the drone in seconds to blow up a truck. General Atomics intends to offer US armies something like a hybrid of Mojave and MQ-1C Gray Eagle as a new armed reconnaissance platform. The peculiarity of the sample is the UAV integrated with the Dillon Aero Dap-6 Minigun Dillon Aero Dillon Aero Dillon Aero Dillon.

The War Zone was told about the rather original decision by the American company. It is noted that MOJave drone with DAP-6 Minaigan has already participated in the trials and during the first demonstration of shooting struck several static goals-among them the pickup of Chevy, which drone was divided into pieces. "In total, 10,000 shots of 7. 62x51 mm caliber were made for all seven events, that is, an average of about 1428 shots for the West," the observers write.

At the same time, the minigun gun in the DAP-6 capsule is 3,000 shots per minute, and since two guns are installed on Mojave, the total frequency of the drone is 6,000 shots per minute. Due to the fact that the weight of DAP-6 with full load reaches 159 kg of the team from the developers needed great ingenuity.

As Senior Marketing Director of General Atomics, Mark Brinkley, told journalists, they had to update hardware and software, as well as to conduct a series of ground test firing to accurately aim for guns that shoot from a fixed position on the wings. "As soon as a team of pilots understood the individual points of hidden shells released from each gun, we were able to make a demonstration flight and hit goals from the air," Brinkley explained.

The company representative added that the drone used weapons without any incidents. There were no problems with vibration or return. And test results showed that accuracy and efficiency will increase as the developers develop this platform. Brinkley also shared plans for weapons. According to him, in the future, the drone will be equipped with rotating minions, which will be installed on special fasteners.
